According to Defence Spokesperson, Chris Olukolade, thousands of Euros were found on a Boko Haram commander after troops of the Nigerian army repelled an attack by the group in Mafa, Borno state.
“The terrorist who is also an Amir by status and believed to be of foreign descent, is among about 30 terrorist fighters who died in the encounter while many others fled with wounds,” he said.
Mr. Olukolade said the terrorists lost a number weapons and equipment to the military including the captured 13 rifles, a machine gun, rocket propelled grenade tubes and several other assorted ammunition, PREMIUM TIMES reports.
Also, a Toyota Buffalo vehicle was recovered from the terrorists while two of their armoured vehicles were also destroyed in the battle, the spokesperson said.
