Ahmad Salkida, a journalist with links to the boko haram group claims that the terrorists are still in control of a large portion of the North East.    

Salkida made the claim via his Twitter handle. He wrote: ''Boko Haram is in control of vast territories. Investigation says, 4 LGAs & other areas are under Boko Haram control. Why is stating this fact unpatriotic?''.

''Sources say Shekau has made a video disproving many narratives. Video to reveal the group's goals & links wt IS, after facing heavy casualties''.

''The reality for W/Africa is, Shekau has not been killed or captured as rumoured & over 70% of BH's leadership & members are still intact''.
