A federal high court in Lagos has commanded that operatives of the NDLEA vacate the residence of Senator-elect Buruji Kashamu, who is wanted in the United States for drug trafficking offences.
Mr. Kashamu had been under house arrest since Saturday morning when anti-narcotic agents secured his property in order to ensure he appears in court to face extradition proceedings on Monday.
According to Premium Times, Justice Ibrahim Bubba gave the order after NDLEA failed to take Mr. Kashamu to court on Monday.
Despite the house arrest, the NDLEA failed to take Mr. Kashamu to court on Monday.
The matter has subsequently been adjourned till 4th of june.
The lawmaker-elect is wanted by United States authorities for alleged drug related offences.
