A man was horrified to sleep with a dead body and drink dirty water that was used to wash the corpse, police in Nigeria said.
 Lagos State Police said that 29-year-old Bode David, was severely beaten and abused after a dying man repeatedly uttered his name.

 Bode told investigators that he knew the deceased identified as Ganiyu, after he hired him to repair his broken car. After repairing the car, Bode never saw Ganiyu again.

Last week, Ganiyu died at a hospital. Bode was called by some people, who told him that he had to visit Ganiyu urgently. As he walked to the hospital, Bode was abducted and taken to a house, where he was beaten and abused.

He was accused of causing Ganiyu’s death. After the beating, Bode was forced to sleep on the floor with Ganiyu to prove that he had nothing to do with his death.

The suspects also washed the deceased with water and forced Bode to drink it. Luckily, neighbors who heard screams called the police, who arrived at the scene and rescued Bode.

Police launched an investigation into the incident, but so far, no arrests have been made.
