Mayoress Princess Simbiat Abolanle Bada of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA held a press conference at the Sen. Adebayo Osinowo Hall earlier today August 7, 2023, to debunk allegations circulating on social media that she imposed a 650,000 Naira Aso ebi on the staff of Ikosi-Isheri.
Mayoress Samiat Bada in her statement “ I want to categorically state that these allegations are completely false and baseless, since assuming office as the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, I have prioritized the welfare and working conditions of the staffs.”
“ I have worked tirelessly to improve their working environment and ensure that they feel valued and appreciated. The first thing I did was to increase their monthly welfare package(paid through NULGE Ikosi-Isheri Branch) from 400,000 Naira to 1.4million Naira( 1million for the welfare of my people and 200thousand for the immediate chairman and 200 for the Executives of the people ). “ said the Mayoress at the press conference.
She further said that her administration constructed an Ultra-mordern and befitting administration complex for the staffs, a place they can truly be proud of and can carry out their duties efficiently and she proudly announced that she was the first chairman of any LCDA to begin providing palliatives to the constituents long before the removal of fuel subsidy and informed that she is currently planning another set of palliative support to be distributed.
She however mentioned that she invited the pressmen to visit and verify the improvements she had made in this regard and expressed that her committee of friends from the United Kingdom picked the cloth worth 650,000 Naira and she only arranged clothes of 100,000 naira and 60,000 naira for some of her friends in Nigeria and has never given an invitation card to any of her staffs.
The Mayoress also said that she increased the bonus of her staffs from 4,000 naira to 10,000 naira, and also provided a staff bus to enhance their convenience and transportation.
She expressed how disheartened she felt about the false allegations being spread despite the positive developments and her effort to uplift the working conditions of her staffs.
She believes that the allegations is an attempt to blackmail her, tarnish her reputation and cause a division within her administration.
She affirmed that she will get to the bottom of the issue and expose those responsible for the false claims as they sought to undermine the LCDA’s stand which she believe is evident in their failed attempts to deny Mr. Governor’s visit for the commissioning of the Ikosi-Isheri International Market recently inaugurated by the Governor.
Mrs. Bola Aderemi council manager and staff of the Mayoress said ,” she never imposed a 650,000 naira cloth on her staff nor expect her staffs to buy such, I did not even hear her mention anything about #650,000 cloth, she mentioned an Aso-ebi but it is still in December and no plans was put in place for it yet”.
Another staff Comrade Alimi Kabir oluwatobi said,” he is the newly appointed caretaker chairman of the staff welfare committee and wants to use to opportunity to debunk all lies against the Chairman and Mayoress of Ikorodu LCDA, saying she has never for once forced anybody or mentioned a cloth of mr 650,000 naira to any staff.”
Comrade kaka temitope Oyinlomo planning officer in budgeting department, a staff of Ikosi Isheri LCDA, said ,” I want to say that as the former chairman of new era group , the chairman has never for once impelled any staff member to buy any Aso-ebi for her birthday party coming up in December neither has she ever denied the staffs of their welfarism.
