Mohbad’s Wife Wunmi Denies Conducting DNA Tests On Son Amid Paternity Controversy

Wunmi Aloba

There have been reports claiming that while her father-in-law Joseph Aloba had been insisting on conducting a DNA test on his grandson, Liam, Wunmi secretly conducted two DNA tests on her son.

Wunmi Aloba, the wife of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, has denied conducting any form of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) tests on her son, Liam as being speculated.

There have been reports claiming that while her father-in-law Joseph Aloba had been insisting on conducting a DNA test on his grandson, Liam, Wunmi secretly conducted two DNA tests on her son.

The reports further claimed that two DNA tests were done because the result of the first test prompted the conduct of the second one.

However, when SaharaReporters contacted Wunmi on Thursday, the late singer’s widow denied the allegation, saying, “It is a lie.”

Since the death of Mohbad, there has been controversy over Liam’s paternity, with some members of the public and her father-in-law asking that a DNA test be carried out on Liam.

However, Wunmi has insisted that Joseph Aloba must obtain a court order before she could release her son for a DNA test.

In April, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo, cried out over alleged persistent bullying by her ex-husband, Joseph Aloba and London-based blogger Bukky Jesse among others.

The late singer’s mother accused her bullies of planning to kill her, Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi and Mohbad’s son, Liam.

She called on President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for urgent intervention to save her life and the lives of her daughter-in-law and her grandson.

She said, "I have been inundated with several calls and attacks and the threat to my life and that of my children are becoming very unbearable.

“I needed to speak up and raise the alarm when Bukky Jesse allegedly posted the photo of my residence with threat messages that they would continue to trail me wherever I go.

“They have been on my trail, stalking around and intruding on my privacy. I can no longer sleep nor move freely without receiving calls from these people.

“That is why I am raising the alarm to seek justice for the soul of my late son and to also seek protection from the Lagos state government over the daily threats to my life and that of my children.

"I am still mourning the death of my son, however, don't let them kill me and my children.”

Reacting to her outcry, the Justice For Mohbad Movement Group (JMMG) Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Koleosho, described it as unfortunate that the same group of people that had been threatening Mohbad’s wife and her son were now doing the same to the mother of the late singer.

Koleosho said,  "As a group that is poised to fulfill our mandate of seeking justice for the soul of the late Hip Hop star, we are concerned that there is still an alleged plot to kill Mohbad's mother.

"A grieving mother and wife deserve our compassion and respect, but it is unfortunate that some people masquerading as sympathizers decided to unleash various cyber-attacks and threats to the victims of their unjust.

“We are not going to fold our arms. We will continue to seek justice for the soul of the late singer and at the same time support the bereaved in their times of difficulty.”
