In Japan, Nigerian Student Solves 30-Year-Old Maths Problem, scores best mark since 1965

 

Whilst studying in Japan, a Nigerian student has solved a 30-year-old unsolved maths problem whilst achieving the highest grades of his university in 50 years.

Ufot Ekong has studied at Tokai University in Tokyo, achieving a first class degree in electrical engineering and has scored the best marks since 1965.

Putting anyone’s doubts at rest, he solved the 3o-year-old maths problem in his first semester and has since won six awards for academic excellence.

And it’s not as if he’s spent all of his time revising as, to fund his studying, he worked two jobs!

He speaks English, French, Japanese and Yoruba. Because of this, Mr Ekong has won a Japanese language award for foreigners.

He is now currently working for Nissan and has already got two patents for electronic car design to his name.
