Breaking News: 241 Women, men and Children rescued from Boko Haram Captivity

 

Men of the Nigerian army on Tuesday, September 22, rescued 241 women and children held captive by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno state.

Army spokesperson, Sani Usman said the victims were rescued during military operations in two terrorist’s camps at Jangurori and Bulatori villages along Banki axis.

Usman, a Colonel, said the troops also arrested 43 suspected terrorists including a Boko Haram kingpin in the area, Bulama Modu.

The army spokesperson said Modu is an “Amir”, the king of Bulakuri.

He said terrorists have continued to abandon their commanders and buried weapons in various location in the area.

Usman said one of the terrorists, Mohammed Modu have led troops to where he buried his AK-47 rifle at Jangurori village.

Apart from arms and ammunitions, bows and arrows recovered from Bulama Modu, the kingpin. He confirmed that the terrorists also gave him a horse to enhance his deadly pursuits,” Usman said.

He also said troops succeeded in arresting another suspected terrorist, Aji Gambo at Wuda village.

Gambo revealed that some of the terrorists who attacked Kirawa and Kolofata in the northern part of Cameroon were from Dara Jamel village in Nigeria. He said the terrorists run an improvised explosive device (IED) factory in Dara Jamel.

The arrested suspect said some of the suicide bombers and IEDs were prepared by Abdulrahaman Alkali Isa, Ba’ana Hisuba and Alkali Isa Karami also natives of Dara Jamel village.

Meanwhile Usman said, “The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai who keeps close tap on the progress of the troops has commended them for their impressive performance thus far.”


He added that troops are on high spirits have continued to restate their determination in the fight against terrorists till they clear them from all known camps and enclaves.
