KIDNAPPERS TURN TO CLERGYMEN: Rivers: Two clergymen kidnapped, abductors demand N25million

Two ministers of God, Venerable J.B Lawson and Venerable Isobo Dokubo of the African Church have been kidnapped.

The clergymen were taken by gunmen along Emohua-kalabari road on their way to Port Harcourt after a church assignment in Kalabari area of Rivers state.

Speaking at a media briefing in Port Harcourt, Arch. Bishop of the African Church Rivers province, Reverend Dokiboeria Kaladokubo said kidnappers of two of his ministers along Emohua-Kalabari road were demanding for twenty-five million Naira ransom.

He said the church does not have money for ransom and called for their unconditional release.

The Arch Bishop of the African Church Rivers province, Dokiboeria Kaladokubo condemned the abduction and called on all relevant authorities, especially security agencies to ensure timely release of the abducted clergymen.

Rev. Kaladokubo said, “I don’t know what the kidnappers want us to do. They have called us two times now.

“They were kidnapped same day at same point along the Kalabari-Emohua road. They came with sophisticated weapons.

A special prayer was held by members of the church for the unconditional released of their members before the media briefing.

Meanwhile, the Rivers state Police Command has said it will continue to be proactive and take onslaught on criminal hideouts in the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo emphasized that the command will no longer wait for criminals to strike innocent citizens of the state.

CP Kimo while parading 15 suspected criminals who were arrested for allegedly committing different crimes ranging from Kidnapping to armed robbery, rape and cultism in parts of the state.

The Command also decried the high number of sophisticated weapons used by criminals to perpetrate their acts in the state.
