To get money for their traditional wedding, a 39-year-old waiter, Okupe Ernest Ifeanyi, claimed he decided to try his luck in the drug trafficking trade and got nabbed by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, on his
way back from Brazil.
Ifeanyi was nabbed with 59 wraps of substance which turned out to be cocaine and was paid a meagre N400,000 to bring in the drugs.
The Anambra State born Ifeanyi who said he worked as a waiter in a Brazilian restaurant before the urge to make extra money so as to make his marriage the talk of the town, confessed that he took the risk because of the love he has for his fiancee.
“I work in a restaurant in Brazil. I sincerely want to get married and have a family. In the process of trying to make more money, I was given 59 wraps of cocaine to take to Nigeria for N400,000.
