RUEBEN ABATI: TO YOUR TENTS, O ISRAEL !!!

"Mercantilism may bring profit, but in power politics, it destroys integrity and compromises otherwise sacred values" - Rueben Abati

es! Our own Rueben Abati was sacred to us in literary world. But value and integrity wise, your adventure into pretentious power politics and unprofitable business is in itself pseudo-mercantilism. What a profound word of admonition from my brother Abati to my brother Abati! Brother Abati adequately deserves this admonition on his own merit. It is glad tiding to regrettably welcome you back to the Nigerian village.

Good mind and a patriot will detest your venture in helping and trumpeting a government that is seen as a lootocratic government; a government that allowed the raped of our collective wealth. An incapacitated government that lacked the political will to fight corruption headstrong. Also, a government that joined its predecessors to punctuate our development and hacked our collective journey to utopia. Nigerians regrettably allowed a gully full of political garbage to fester its entity. Never again!

Retrospectively, O brother! Despite your commission or omission; good or bad antecedents, we will continue to celebrate your intellectual acumen. But you should in maximum be accused of what you're accusing Papa Edwin Clark now. Yes! Trusting Nigerian politicians is like sentencing oneself to political dungeon. The whole clime is still dotted with some sociopaths.

The Nigerian political system is a miasma. It's fouled with political grandstanding and opportunism. During your sojourns to political wilderness, those of us your admirers wailed; those of us who were crazy about your intellectual sagacity cried. We lobbied you back to our village but you bluntly refused and ignored us, and we eventually mourned the demise of your integrity from our community, community of the plebeians. Now that the chickens have come home to roost, the antic of those who beclouded Oga Jonathan from good governance, now is the comic relief for the plebeians. Time is bunk!

My advice to president Buhari is to beware of political jobbers and their facilitators in Nigeria today. They do not always remember the burdens of history. Unfortunately, their history that is pitiably repetitious.
