Benue State government, under the leadership of Samuel Ortom has revoked former Governor Gabriel Suswam’s purchase and ownership of a government residential quarters in Makurdi the state capital.
The development was conveyed to the immediate past governor in a letter by the state’s Head of Service, Mr. Adaikwu Inwata, titled, ‘’Notice of revocation of sub-lease on property Number GP 415 Atom Kpera Lodge, Makurdi.’’
The revocation order also directed the former governor to vacate the premises with immediate effect.
Part of the notice read: “Please refer to our letter of May 21, 2007, in which we conveyed to you the offer of sub-lease of property GP 415 Atom Kpera Lodge.
“This is to inform you that Benue State Executive Council on November 11, 2015, reference BEC 10(2015), deliberated on the purchase of the said property.
“It discovered that there were fundamental irregularities in the process that led to the transaction which amounts to abuse of power and approved that notice of revocation be served on you through my office.
“Take notice that on the strength of the foregoing, the sub-lease to you by Benue State government of Atom Kpera Lodge is, hereby, revoked and you are to deliver vacant possession of the said property to my office without further delay.
“We desire that good counsel will prevail and that you will comply with this notice.”
