The police raid followed a tip-off by notorious Russian former kickboxer and MMA fighter Viacheslav Datsik.
Datsik, who calls himself Red Tarzan, has declared war on prostitution in the city and regularly urges police to raid brothels.
He is famous for his dramatic knock-out of future Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski in 1999.
In 2007, he was detained for his part in a spate of armed robberies of mobile phone shops in St Petersburg.
He escaped prison and was instead confined to a mental institution after exalting Slavic paganism and claiming Jesus Christ was a Mossad agent.
