– Jackline Mwende  aged 27, also suffered multiple injuries both on her neck and head

A man in Machakos county  chopped off his wife’s hands because  they had been unable to get a child.

A 27-year-old Jackline Mwende was attacked by her husband,  Stephen Ngila,34 with a panga.  She suffered multiple injuries on neck and head during the attack.

Mwende told journalists that she had been separated from her husband for three months after failing to conceive.  She  currently works as  a shopkeeper.

“I could not understand why he was blaming me yet we had gone to the  hospital last year and the doctors had said he was the one with issues, which could be corrected,” Mwende was quoted by Daily Nation.

The woman had been to a hospital and doctors had told her that her husband was the issue but could get medical help.

The woman who was recently discharged  from hospital went back to her parent’s house in Kathama village.

Her  husband fled shortly after committing the atrocity but was arrested hours later.  His photo has been making rounds online since the news broke out.

Cases of domestic violence have increased in Kenya affecting even senior citizens in Kenya.Just a few months,Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula reported to police that he had been attacked by his wife.

This later exposed Wetangula into a public ridicule especially in the social media given culturally, a man is seen as inferior when he admits being beaten by the wife.
