Wednesday, 21 March 2018 09:42 Written by

A Babcock graduate, Onoseta Oribhabor has reportedly committed suicide after murdering his 27-year old girlfriend in Toronto, Canada.

According to information gathered, on March 6, the police were called to a condo building in the north end of the city.

They found Oribhabor dead on a balcony.

They found a woman inside a unit with obvious signs of trauma after a further research.

She was treated for injuries but ultimately died.

Oribhabor graduated from Babcock University, Ogun State, before leaving for Canada as reported online.

Police characterize the case as a murder-suicide and have listed 27-year-old Essozinam Assali as the city’s 10th homicide victim of the year.

They have identified the 30-year-old man as Onoseta Oribhabor of Edmonton.

Police describe the deaths as a domestic incident and say no other suspects are being sought.

While those close to Assali allege Oribhabor was her boyfriend, but Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook would not confirm the relationship.

Ontario has seen an unusually high number of domestic-related deaths since the beginning of the year.

Gender-based violence experts have documented more than a dozen cases of women or their family members killed by past or present intimate partners.

A number of people expressed condolences and referred to her as “Martine.”

“It is very difficult to express how shock I am with the news of your death considering we only spoke three weeks ago.

“Words can’t describe how caring and great you are,” wrote Eddie Idisi.

“Words can’t describe how nice a person you were and how blessed I was to have known and be a brother and friend to you.”

This Man Decided To Name His Son 'Donald Trump'... What Happened Next Has Left Him Shattered

Tuesday, 20 March 2018 11:27 Written by
A man who dared to name his son after the United States president, Donald Trump, is not having the best of times.

Asadullah Poya with his 18-month-old son Donald Trump, poses for a photograph at their rented house
in Kabul, Afghanistan, Thursday, March 15, 2018. Photographer: Rahmat Gul/AP Photo

When Asadullah Poya's wife gave birth to their third child in a tiny village in rural Afghanistan, he immediately thought of Donald Trump.

Not Donald Trump the upstart politician, who at that time was in the thick of the 2016 presidential campaign, but Donald Trump the celebrity businessman. He had just recently read a Dari translation of what appears to be "Trump: How to Get Rich," published in 2004 by the then-star of "The Apprentice," and was transfixed.

"I loved his personality. I thought he is the best at economics and he is great at politics," Poya said. "I thought 'This is a great man.' I liked the way he decides he wants something and then he goes and gets it."

So when his baby came into the world in August 2016, and he saw that the boy had an unusual shock of blond hair, he named him Donald Trump, hoping it would bring him good fortune.

It hasn't.

Poya's own parents were furious that he had given their grandchild a non-Muslim name. The imam of the village mosque devoted an entire Friday sermon to the matter, calling the name an insult. The opposition doesn't have much to do with President Trump's politics, but with the decision to break with tradition and name the boy for a non-Muslim.

"Every day the situation got worse," Poya said. "Every day in the house, when I was calling my son Trump, my father got angrier and angrier, until finally my father couldn't tolerate it anymore."

It was then that Poya decided to pack up his family, leave his teaching job and the family farm, and move to the Kabul.

Poya and his children __ Donald Trump, his older sister Fatima and brother Karim __ now live in a simple one-story house that they share with their landlord.

But Donald Trump isn't liked in the capital either.

On Thursday, five neighbors approached the landlord and demanded he throw Poya out, calling him an "infidel" for not giving his son a Muslim name.

Others have accused Poya of naming his son Donald Trump in order to improve his chances of gaining asylum in the United States. On the campaign trail, Trump had called for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S., but what about a Muslim refugee named Donald Trump?

Poya insists he does not want to leave the country, and that he never intended his son's name to be in the news. He says a local government official in the district where he registered his son's name posted the identity card on Facebook.

Poya said he and his wife had to block their Facebook pages after they received a deluge of angry comments and threats. One user said four men were coming to kill him, while others called him an infidel or an atheist, a potentially fatal accusation in a conservative Muslim country.

"But a name is a name," Poya said. If Donald Trump wants to change his name when he is older, his father says he is free to do so. "But now it is my decision, and I have decided it is Trump."

On Thursday afternoon, the chubby, 18-month-old boy was running around the house. His father called for the high-energy toddler to stop, but Donald Trump stubbornly ignored him. Then Donald Trump ran over to a computer and started slapping the keys with his tiny hands — almost as though he wanted to send an angry tweet.

"Trump! Come here," Poya shouted.

He's still a big fan of his son's namesake, and says he would love to meet President Trump someday.

"I would like to see him and talk to him and tell him please bring peace and stability for Afghanistan," said Poya. "He is the president. He can do it."

Undeterred by the controversy his son's famous name has ignited, Poya said that if he has a fourth child and it is a girl he would like to name her after President Trump's daughter, though he had to be reminded of her name.

"Ivanka Trump" is unlikely to be any less divisive.

REVEALING: ‘NIGERIAN Conman, BABAJIDE FADEYIBI Behind AMERICA’S Mystery Shopper Fraud of $1.3Million

‘NIGERIAN Conman, BABAJIDE FADEYIBI Behind AMERICA’S Mystery Shopper Fraud of $1.3Million Tax Payers’ Fund’-United States Federal Agents

…Instructs Gang-members to cash Cashier’s Check, Money Orders, Western Union at their Banks

*Orchestrates an international fraud ring that stole from 500 innocent Americans
* ‘Fadeyibi, the alleged ringleader, one of his co-defendants, Oyeyemi Arogundade hiding in Nigeria’-United States Court Document
* Six other co-defendants have been convicted of crimes relating to this alleged fraud

A NOTORIOUS NIGERIAN CRIMINAL, BABAJIDE FADEYIBI hiding in Nigeria in company of his few of his aides have been dubbed ‘the face behind series of mystery shopping in United States’ that have led to a huge loss of $1.3Million American tax payers’ funds in recent times.

Naija Standard gathered that Fadeyibi runs an international criminal gang from Nigeria that is daily exploiting unsuspecting Americans in the guise of “mystery shopper” fraud that netted almost $1.3 million, as confirmed by federal agents.

They were called “mystery shoppers,” but they didn’t really shop. In exchange for money, they were supposed to cash cashier’s checks and money orders at their banks and then wire part of the lump sum to other people – ostensibly to evaluate transmission services like Western Union and MoneyGram. Few innocent Americans were also deceived, recruited into believing they are into a legitimate business, whereas it was all lies.

Federal agents claim Fadeyibi orchestrated an international fraud ring that stole almost $1.3 million from almost 500 innocent people, including several living in South Hampton Roads.

Lawrence Cake of Virginia Beach, a former restaurant manager who was familiar with mystery shoppers corroborated this scam, when he reportedly said: “It all looked very legitimate, my heart dropped to the pit of my stomach when I realized what I’d done” said and didn’t think twice when he saw the scam email solicitation pop into his inbox. The move cost him about $4,000.

Fadeyibi, the alleged ringleader, remains at large, as does one of his co-defendants, Oyeyemi Arogundade. Court documents identify both men as living in Nigeria. Six other co-defendants have been convicted of crimes relating to the alleged fraud.

Hafeez Odoffin of Chicago was sentenced recently in U.S. District Court in Newport News to nine years and two months in prison, and Zoelithia Williams of Smyrna, Tenn., was sentenced to eight years and four months. Christie Easter of Fort Worth, Texas, was sentenced last month to almost nine years.

According to court documents, federal agents launched an investigation in 2012 into a large fraud scheme that appeared to have its roots in Nigeria. The scheme continued until 2014, and the indictment was returned in May 2016.

The probe determined that the fraudsters recruited people over the internet to serve as mystery shoppers, who would then use their own bank accounts to cash counterfeit cashier’s checks and postal money orders.

Dispatchers like Williams and Easter would collect interested applicants’ personal information and then place it on counterfeit cashier’s checks and money orders to be mailed out.

After cashing the fakes, the mystery shoppers were supposed to wire some of the money to other people. That would often happen before the financial institution realized the truth, retroactively canceled the transaction and recouped the money from the shoppers’ accounts.

Cake said he was on his third batch of money orders before his bank informed him one was a fake. He said he immediately tried to contact the company to find out what had happened, only to realize too late it was all a con.

Most of the counterfeit checks and money orders were made in Nigeria, based on legitimate versions obtained in the United States. Officials alleged Arogundade was behind most of the counterfeiting. The case was investigated by the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the U.S. Secret Service.

Cake said he didn’t know the fraud had connections to Nigeria until the feds got involved. He said all the addresses he knew about were in Texas and the Philippines. And if it had been, he probably would have thought twice about doing anything in light of all the “Nigerian prince” scams he’s heard about over the years.

Cake urged anyone else looking to make a few extra bucks to make sure they understand exactly what they are doing and who they are working for. Don’t do everything by email and text, he said. “Talk to somebody,” he said. “I never talked to anybody, and I certainly wish I had.”

Babajide and his gangs should be arrested, prosecuted and made to face various jail terms in prison.

BE THERE! Community Meeting: The Plight of African Refugees in Israel - Exploring & Enabling Practical Solutions

Sunday, 18 March 2018 14:32 Written by

By 2012, there we more than 60,000 African refugees who fled to Israel via Egypt escaping persecution at home. But the Government of Israel does not want these refugees and labelled them "infiltrators."

The government has implemented a shameful plan to reduce and remove African asylum seekers. Today, there are less than 40,000 remaining. The first step was to build an expensive fence on the Egyptian border to stop the flow of asylum seekers.

Second, to keep asylum seekers in detention without trial for a year and lastly to repatriate refugees to third countries without consent. It’s obvious that the Government of Israel is trying to hide the fact that they are trying to make the lives of African asylum-seekers in Israel harder and harder.

They need our help. What can we do to help? What is the call of leadership of Canadians? Join community/sector leaders and experts in the field to explore and enable practical solutions to this long-standing problem of African refugees whose dignity has been taken away in Israel.

American Billionaire Pays Company $10k (N3.6Million) To Kill Him And Upload His Brain To A Computer

Sunday, 18 March 2018 13:16 Written by

A 32-year-old tech-billionaire is paying $10,000 to be killed so his brain can be preserved forever.
Entrepreneur Sam Altman is one of 25 people on a waiting list at Nectome, a startup company that says they can upload the contents of a person’s brain and store it on a computer.

But in exchange for eternally preserving his mind, the 32-year-old will have to die in a process similar to physician-assisted suicide – which is only legal in five US states.

The process he’s signed up for involves embalming the brain so it can later be simulated onto a computer, according to the MIT Technology Review.

The customer, alive, is hooked up to a machine and then injected with Nectome’s embalming chemicals. The company said the method is ‘100% fatal.’ ‘The user experience will be identical to physician assisted suicide,’ Nectome’s co-founder Robert McIntyre told the Review.
