EPL: Arsenal's Arsene Wenger Happy With 1 - 1 Draw At Man United

After 90 minutes at the Old Trafford, Arsene Wenger's hope of finishing the season stronger than the past five or six seasons received a boost.

The North London side played a 1-1 draw on Sunday evening to keep the louis van Gaal's Unite on the 4th position on the EPL table.

Ander Herrera put United ahead on the 30th minute but they could not hold on to the victory as increasing pressure from Arsenal was rewarded in the 82nd minute through an own goal from Tyler Blackett.

And with two games to go for the Emirate outfit, finishing above United is pretty certain.

Looking at how the game ended, United were supposed to carry the day due to the higher possession they enjoyed, they also had more shots on goal than Arsenal but it seems the killer instinct in the United's team had departed with Sir Alex Ferguson when he left the class.

Wenger feels fulfilled with the result of the game after he admitted that his aim was not to allow United to finish ahead of them this season.
Wenger

"It was very important to not let Man Utd get in front of us, even with a game in hand, and mentally it was a very important result for us. In the second half I think it was all us and I think we have shown a great response. We had the chances to win it."

He further stated that his side failed to bury some of their clear chances which could have given them all the three points, but above all, the results wasn't bad for him.

Theo Walcott on Arsenal's equaliser:
"You have got to take every one you get. It was an important goal and I will take it! In patches we did not play great but in the last 20 minutes we were very strong and we showed how fit we are as a team. We just need one more point with goal difference and this feels a like a win for us today."
