DR Congo defeated Nigeria 2-0, in an international friendly game played at the Stade de la Cite de l’Oie, Vise, on Thursday evening.
Dieumerci Mbokani and Jordan Nkololo scored for the Leopards, as they beat the former African champions, who were below par in the match.
The Congolese were ahead as early as the 6th minute, after Yannick Bolasie crossed for Mbokani to fire past Carl Ikeme. Nkololo doubled their lead in the 41st minute of play.
It is the first loss for coach Sunday Oliseh since he took over the Super Eagles. In the previous two games, he drew 0-0 against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam and beat Niger 2-0 in a friendly in Port Harcourt.
Nigeria will take on Cameroon on Sunday.
