The lawyer to the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki might have indicted the ex-president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the ongoing arms deal Scandal.
The Federal Government might soon bring former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan into the arms deal scandal to answer some pressing questions as a lawyer to the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki had hinted while speaking with AFP that the arms deal probe cannot be discussed without reference to Jonathan.
Ahmed Raji, one of the lawyers of Sambo Dasuki, the embattled former National Security Adviser to Jonathan stated that his client only carried out instruction from the president.
“The national security adviser will normally carry out the instructions of his president,” Ahmed Raji told AFP.
“You cannot talk about this matter without talking about President Jonathan,” he added.
If President Muhammadu Buhari will go after Jonathan is yet unclear. But, many have argued that it could not have been possible that the former president was unaware of what the former NSA was doing. Some have posited that Dasuki was only carrying out the president's order.
Whatever the case may be, it is very unlikely that Jonathan will have any questions to answer after all. It would be recalled that when Buhari was voted into power in 2015, he said in his acceptance speech last April that: “President Jonathan has nothing to fear from me,” adding that, “Let’s put the past behind us, especially the recent past.”
