Jonathan Wants To Postpone Elections For 6 Months – Nasir El-Rufai

APC gubernatorial candidate for Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP are planning to delay elections by at least six months to buy time to manipulate the polls.

El-Rufai, who spoke at a meeting of the APC-UK in London on Tuesday, said a recent opinion poll showed the APC ahead of the PDP in 27 states by at least 40 percent, adding that the recent postponement was due to PDP’s fear of defeat.

“President Jonathan does not want to have elections, but he must pack his bags and baggage and leave to give Nigeria a life”, he said, adding that Jonathan’s government was characterised by “incompetence, impunity, incapacity and insecurity”.

El-Rufai said the government of President Jonathan, which made more than $200billion from crude oil alone, had depleted the Excess Crude Account from $27billion to less than one billion dollars, while the Foreign Reserve went down from $43 billion to less than $30billion.

He added that under President Jonathan’s watch, external debts have doubled, corruption, unemployment and poverty have reached alarming proportions.
