Renown Lagos based lawyer, Femi Falana has called on president Muhammadu Buhari to immediately relieve Chief of Army Tukur Buratai of his role if the lieutenant general doesn’t deem it fit to resign.
Buratai has been dogged by media reports to the effect that he cornered government funds in his previous role as a procurement officer, to purchase property worth N1.5m in Dubai, among other lavish expenses.
President Buhari is waging an anti-graft war like he promised during the electioneering campaigns and Falana wants the C-in-C to take the war to his Chief of Army Staff.
“In view of the ban on the opening and operation of foreign accounts by public officers, the Code of Conduct Bureau should be involved in the investigation”, he said.
“If the Chief of Army Staff does not deem it fit to resign forthwith, President Buhari should not hesitate to remove him in the interest of national morality.”
