An official of Department of State Services, DSS, and an aide to the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Monday threatened to shoot a journalist, Ezrel Tabiowo, of blueprint newspapers, at FIFA event holding at the National Assembly complex.
DAILY POST correspondent learnt that trouble started when a journalist officially accredited to cover the activities of the senate arrived at the venue of the event to cover a courtesy visit of the FIFA president, Grianni Infantino and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). When he tried to gain access to the door, the DSS official manning the entrance pushed him and angrily threatened to shoot him, reminding the journalist that he was licensed to kill.
It took the timely intervention of the Chief Press Secretary to the senate President , Mr Sani Onogu, who heard the altercation for the situation to be brought under control.
Mr Onogu had pleaded with the journalist to allow sleeping dog lie after apologizing to him for the assault.
