A relatively unknown presidential candidate has said that God has informed him that he will be the next Nigerian President.
While the two leading candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress, President Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari have certainly taken the spotlight, sometimes, a few other presidential aspirants do something and they are the rave of the moment.
For a while.
The latest one is the presidential candidate of the African Peoples Alliance, Adebayo Musa Ayeni, who on Monday, March 9, claimed to have received divine assurance to ensure he achieves victory at the ballot come March 28.
While speaking with journalists in Akure, he stated that his entry into the presidential race was nothing but an acquiescence to the directive of God.
The APA candidate, who is a former deputy governor in the old Ondo State (present-day Ondo and Ekiti states) from 1990 to 1992, said Nigerians would be surprised when he emerges as President.
He said: “I came into the race because God directed me to contest the election. God told me categorically that I will succeed President Goodluck Jonathan and I believe what God says, hence, my resolve to contest the forthcoming presidential election.”
Speaking further, he added that, “with people like me at the helm of affairs, we can be sure of a better and prosperous Nigeria.”
