In a clear show of hatred and disdain for the second term ambition of President Jonathan, the people of Duara, Buhari’s country home in Kastina State, during the weekend took to the street to ‘wash off’ the president’s footprint’s after his visit to the community.
Their kinsman, Buhari, a former Head of State would be slugging it out against President Jonathan in the Saturday, March 28 presidential election.
Eyewitnesses said the people of the community were seen chanting ‘we don’t want bad luck’ ‘sweep away bad luck’ while repeatedly pouring water on the road and using broom to sweep it away.
Buhari, 72, had contested the nation’s highest political seat thrice but was defeated in all his attempts.
DAILY POST recalls that in April last year, shortly after President Jonathan had left Kano, the governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, led his state officials to sweep off the president’s footprints in what appeared like a strong political message that the president and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party are not wanted in the North’s most populous state.
