As the reality of defeat dawned on the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, its national headquarters wore a mournful look on Tuesday.
It became obvious on Monday that all is well as many of the party’s employees failed to turn up for work on Monday.
The secretariat’s car park, usually filled to the brim with employees cars, was empty on Tuesday.
Also, few of the security guards made up of policemen, civil defence and private guards were absent.
As the announcement was ongoing on Tuesday, employees of the party, were seen discussing in groups.
“We have squandered our goodwill,” one of the members of the National Working Committee of the party, reportedly told a Punch correspondent in confidence.
