Aisha, the wife of president-elect Muhammadu Buhari is no doubt the brain behind the success of her husband.
Cool, calm and collected, the mother of five (out of Buhari’s 10 children) has been a solid rock to ensure her husband’s ambition of becoming a civilian president come to pass.
She joined Buhari during his campaign to most parts of the country, and organised her own campaign, wooing women to get their votes.
She has had her fair share of bruises on the road Aso Rock, where she was attacked in Ilorin during a campaign rally.
All her efforts paid off as she can now heave a sigh of relief following the official announcement on Wednesday morning of her husband emerging as president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
She was one of the first to congratulate her husband as she took to her twitter handle@IamAishaBuhari
Their marriage has lasted 26 years.
A graduate of Public Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, the 44-year old was born on February 17, 1971 and got married to Buhari on December 2nd 1989.
A professional make-up artist, Aisha also studied at the Carlton Institute of London, and the Academy Esthetique Beauty Institute of France, Dubai.
The country now looks forward to a cool, calm but purposeful contribution from Aisha as she takes the seat of the First Lady from May 29, 2015, and together with her husband, take Nigeria to greater economic, political and social level.
