The Scoop, quoting an anonymous source, says that the Presidency has ordered an investigation into the leakage of the telephone conversation between President Jonathan and President-elect Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, March 31.
The President had at 5:15pm on Tuesday, congratulated Buhari for his victory at the polls, hours before the Independent National Electoral Commission released the final result.
The audio of the conversation titled ” Historic congratulatory call from President Goodluck Jonathan to President-elect Muhammadu Buhari on March 31st, 2015″ emerged on the Internet soon afterwards.
The source said that the leakage has caused the Presidency much embarrassment, although the source says it is not clear if the leak occurred from the Presidency or Buhari’s camp.
The source said if the leak occurred from the Presidency, the culprit will be ‘appropriately punished.’
“Definitely, unauthorised release of a raw recording of the President’s telephone conversation, if from our (Presidency’s) end, is a security breach that cannot go without being investigated,” the source said.
