The Rise And Fall Of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan

Take your precious time to scan through my last words about the nearby ex-president.
This could be my whole candid and I put into cognizance the rise and fall of GEJ.
Although it is a historical journey I took, to form an objective synthesis, by considering the incumbent leadership antecedence which led to it collapse. In composing this note, abusive words were out-used.

On 29 May 1999, GEJ was sworn in as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa alongside Diepreye Alamieyeseigha who named in as the governor of the state on the platform of PDP. GEJ served as Deputy Governor until December 2005. On 9 December 2005, GEJ, who was Deputy Governor at the time, was sworn in as Governor of Bayelsa State upon the impeachment of the current Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha by the Bayelsa State Assembly after being charged with money laundering in the UK.

In May 2007 GEJ became the Vice President of Nigeria alongside president Umaru Yar’adua after several moves by Edwin clerk & Co to denied GEJ bid for the VP claiming he has nothing to offer.

As Vice-President, GEJ took on a very low profile while recognizing the constitutional limits of the Vice-President office, he participated in cabinet meetings and, by statute, was a member of the National Security Council, the National Defence Council, the Federal Executive Council, and was the Chairman of National Economic Council.

GEJ was found to have hand in the  disastrous oil thieving when late Yar,adua constitute the investigation committee headed by Maj Gen Bello S Yaki of kebbi state, the current PDP flag bearer in the upcoming gubernatorial election schedule 11th April 2015. Maj Gen S Yaki informed GEJ of the report he had which indicate GEJ full involvement in oil thieving, this was the beginning of S Yaki’s Friendship with GEJ after S Yaki strike out GEJ name from the list.

Vice-President GEJ was instrumental in negotiating an agreement with many of the major militant groups in the Niger Delta, who were mostly his fellow Ijaws, to lay down their weapons and stop fighting as part of a government amnesty.

On 9 February 2010, a motion from the Nigerian Senate invested GEJ as acting President of the federation because President Yar’Adua went for medical treatment in Saudi Arabia in November 2009. On 10 February 2010, during his first day as acting president, GEJ announced a minor cabinet reshuffle.

Acting President GEJ also promised to continue implementing the Seven-point agenda policy framework of President Umaru Musa Yar’adua.

In accordance with the order of succession in the Nigerian constitution following President Umaru Yar’Adua’s death on 5 May 2010, Vice-President GEJ was sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 6 May 2010, becoming Nigeria’s 14th Head of State. He cited anti-corruption, power and electoral reforms as focuses of his administration. He stated that he came to office under “very sad and unusual circumstances”.

Though he promised to build on the 7 point AGENDA of late President Yar’adua, But at the same time started torturing the Northern part of the country by putting a phase to the MEGA project of LOKOJA seaport  awarded by late Yar’adua.

GEJ Showing little or no respect to public funds, GEJ reviewed the approved 500M budgeted by late Yar’adua for celebrating Nigeria @50 in UK to N10B
In first October 2010 asserted by Henry Okah, GEJ masterminded the Abuja blast in order to gain political sympathy from the masses. The MEND claimed responsibility for the attack, but GEJ claimed that he knew the way MEND attack so they are not the perpetrators. But in 2015  during his presidential campaign in Lagos, he was quoted to have said Henry Okah was procured by some Nigerians to assassinate him (GEJ) but Nigerian and South African intelligence routed him in and Okah is now in jail.

2011 presidential campaign and elections despite many traced shortcomings and incompetency, Nigerians what to give GEJ a benefit of no doubt. On 15 September 2010, GEJ announced on Facebook that he had decided to run for his first ever political election to hold public office as President of Nigeria in 2011. The  country to campaign for the nation’s highest office. With the absent of card reader, GEJ rigged and won the general election against General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate Pastor Tunde Bakare with 59% of the votes.
The prices pay by all Nigerians irrespective of your tribe, religion or region, all corners of the country became hot as a result of fuel subsidy. This was the first action of GEJ as a complement to Nigerians in allowing him to rigged the election in 2011. Although a mass protest took place nationwide, GEJ resisted the masses crying and fuel price escalated from 65N of Yar’aduas regime to 140N per litre.

GEJ in many occasions and interviewed with international media, he was accused of tarnishing the image of the country. Adis Ababa AU assembly and many more.

GEJ really fought to see that Rtd Hon Rotimi Ameachi was not allow to be the chairman governors forum, this was initiated as a result of past history between Ameachi and Patience Jonathan his wife, This led to the spilt of the PDP as a party and formation of new PDP led by Kawu Baraje, and other aggrieved governors; Wamako, Kwankwaso, Ameachi and others.
Political analyst says this was the ever first mistake committed by GEJ.

The Steala Oduah Scandal, the Diezani and missing 20B$ alleged by the former CBN governor His royal highness SLS II. Subsequently the later written by OBJ titled ” BEFORE IT TOO LATE” was seen as a strong signal for GEJ to make a reverse on his intentional deteriorating  the future of the country
Missing Chibok Girls and many uncountable planned genocide which almost 90% if not more Nigerians believe that GEJ own the blueprint for divide and rule policy.

Unconstitutional declaration of state of emergency in three northern states for his political victory and creating avenue for mass looting from the borrowed security funds, Unauthorized Arms deals and involving religious clerics into politics particularly the CAN, moving and kneeling down from one church to another and accusing his opposition of being religious bigot, despite knowing that Nigerians Eyes are wide open.

The #Mama peace abusive words on Northerners despite the contribution of Northerners in securing her husband presidential bid in 2011 but bluntly throw many abusive words and described the Northerners with no distinctions.

After several attempt and blackmail by home and outside-home media stations to tarnish the image of opposition candidate, and the six week postponement of the 2015 polls the incumbent leadership was defeated woefully with a gap range up to 2M votes.
These are my little syntheses among others which I promised not to turn to the failed GEJ any more.
God Bless Nigeria and Nigerians
