PEOPLE CHANT ‘OLE’ AT SARAKI DURING OJUDE-OBA FESTIVAL(VIDEO)

As the saying goes, there’s a time for everything under the sun. A time to allow politicians do what they like and get away with it and a time to be politically conscious. It appears that Nigerians have reached that point.

During the highly celebrated annual Ojude-Oba festival in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state, Senate president Bukola Saraki was one of the invited guests by Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

The festival which attracts people from far and near, is one of the biggest traditional festivals in Nigeria.

Saraki, who couldn’t hide his contentment when he was invited for the festival took to twitter to express his joy. He wrote:

The Ojude Oba festival, held annually in Ijebu Ode, is a celebration of the rich and colourful culture of the Yoruba people. This is why, today, it was an honour to join the Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, at this year’s edition.

Unknown to Saraki, some Nigerians weren’t so pleased about his invitation. As this was shown during Saraki’s speech at the event and his stay there.

A lot of people were seen shouting ‘Ole'(meaning thief) as Saraki addressed the crowd and while he departed the venue.

It took the intervention of the Oba to sue for calm. The video was shared via Twitter by a user identified as @Ibrahim_Ijaola.
