The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said President Muhammadu Buhari should tell Nigerians the whereabouts of the N4trillion unremitted oil revenue as contained in the audit report by Price Waterhouse Cooper, a firm commissioned by his administration.
The party said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, that Nigerians were shocked by the revelation in the audit report, which it said, is happening under the supervision of President Buhari as Minister of Petroleum Resources.
According to the statement, this further confirmed that President Buhari has been presiding over a humongously corrupt administration, while at the same time posturing as Mr. Integrity.
It alleged that the sum of N50 billion had been fritted away from coffers of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) and Ministry of Agriculture while N28 billion disappeared from the Ecological Fund.
The party noted that the latest audit report has added to outstanding revelations of corruption under President Buhari.
“Now that the huge rot in his presidency has been exposed by a firm commissioned by his own administration, the PDP challenges President
Buhari to make good his declaration to jail treasury looters by starting with a self-searching and explanations on the sleazes directly linked to
his office, both as President and minister of petroleum resources,” the statement added.
The PDP stated that the audit report has stripped the administration of all integrity and vindicates its stand that President Buhari runs an innately and inherently corrupt administration.
citizens have been subjected to the worst kind of suffering, hunger and starvation in the last three years,” PDP added.
