Excited supporters and well-wishers of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola, on Saturday evening, hailed him as he moves round his hometown in Iragbiji, in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State.
Many of the supporters, who trooped to the roads and streets of the town, hailed Oyetola and crowded round his convoy as he made his way slowly out if the town.
They were chanting in Yoruba, saying ‘Ileri Oluwa Ase,’ meaning ‘God’s promise shall be fulfilled’, as they greeted him with warmth.
The excitement in the town was premised on the development unfolding showing that the APC was leading in the community.
Meanwhile, some members of the other political parties have expressed dissatisfaction with the process of the poll. While many of those who felt defeated at the polling units declined comments, a few others who spoke to Sunday Sun alleged that the winning party must have given money to the electorate.
“Let me tell you something my brother, the election has been won since Friday night as we know that many of our people have been well bought over.
“It is the PDP that taught the APC how to perfect all these things. We are not surprised,” an Okada man and a resident of Iragbiji who did not want his name in prints, said.
Another voter who pleaded anonymity said: “We know that this election has been highly influenced with money as I am very much aware that the major parties gave many of our people .obey this morning.
“Many people were given N2,000 each. I am also guilty if collecting money. But which ever way it goes, we know God cannot forget us,” he said.
Meanwhile, Oyetola who expressed his gratitude to the people for the support given to him, said his party did not pay anybody a dime to influence their vote.
According to Oyetola, “May be vote-buying had happened in other places but I have not seen it here.
“No one in APC, not even our members, were induced with money. From the reports I have been hearing from many other quarters where we are wining, no such vote-buying has happened,” he said.
