Nigerians voted for the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, because of the absolute belief that he would perform well and turn Nigeria around for good, and better the lot of the people. 

In this regard, Nigerians expect our newly-elected president to settle down to work immediately.  In fact, by now I expected him, if he has not done so by now, to have constituted various ad-hoc or transition committees with eminent professionals to begin brainstorming sessions.  These committees could comprise those of energy; infrastructure; education; science; roads; corruption; health and national cohesion amongst others, to begin with – if not entirely all the sectors of our national life. 

The committees would work out the roadmaps (or blueprints) – though in conjunction with the national secretariat of APC in line with its manifestoes – for the new administration to enable it commence work immediately after the May 29 inauguration. 

No doubt, Nigerians are yearning to taste the goodies in Buhari administration because the change our people voted for must begin to reflect immediately in the areas of electricity, security, economy, transportation in general, welfare and social amenities, foreign investment, international cooperation and infrastructural development, in order to witness a better life in a new Nigeria under the leadership of our new president.  However, we are hopeful and I pray we are not disappointed after all.
