The governorship and State House of Assembly elections in Nigeria were held on April 11, 2015, Saturday.
Nigerians stormed various polling units across the country to choose governors and state lawmakers who would represent and rule them for the next four years. However, there was a low turnout of voters in some state as voters chose to remain indoors.

8:10 No fewer than 21 people were killed during the governorship and State House of Assembly elections (six deaths in Rivers, five each in Akwa Ibom and Kebbi, three in Imo, two in Cross River, and one each in Plateau and Bauchi states). Scores of other people were either wounded in attacks by thugs, or intimidated by them (The Nation).
