The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, prayed the presidential election petition tribunal to order the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to grant them access to inspect the commission’s server.
The PDP also prayed the tribunal sitting in Abuja to grant it the permission to inspect other electronic gadgets used by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the February 23 presidential election.
NAN reports that in their petition before the tribunal, the PDP and Atiku are claiming that they won the February 23 presidential election as per the results fed into the INEC server, a claim the electoral umpire has consistently faulted.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), had on Monday urged the tribunal to strike out the petition filed by the PDP and Atikuchallenging his victory in the February 23 presidential election.
