First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, today made her first public appearance since her husband lost the March 28 presidential election.
She read the new testament lesson from 1st Timothy 6:11-19 at the Thanksgiving and Farewell service at the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life-camp, Gwarimpa, Abuja.
The first family was honoured with a special thanksgiving call during the service.
The Church also presented a farewell gift to President Jonathan and his immediate family.
Following speculations over her whereabouts since late March, her media aide, Aye Adewuyi in a statement, explained that the First Lady had travelled to Congo where she joined her colleagues from Africa for an event.
Adewuyi noted that the President’s wife attended the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Congo Assistance Foundation, an NGO of Congolese First Lady, Madam Antoinette Sassou-Nguesso.
