The Peoples Democratic Party yesterday lost two prominent members to the All Progressives Congress. They are the senator and House of Representatives member representing President Goodluck Jonathan’s home constituency at the National Assembly, Senator Clever Marcus Ikisikpo and Hon Nadu Karibo. Two other lawmakers in the State Assembly and two party chieftains also dumped the PDP.
Addressing journalists at the APC national secretariat, Senator Clever Ikisikpo, leader of the defectors said, they are of the believe that Bayelsa State would be better represented under the APC. The defectors blasted the PDP for underdeveloping the state and promised that the new party would work hard to win the governorship election in the state later this year.
