The Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State has petitioned the Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Jos, over the documents produced and certified for its candidate, Senator Gyang Pwajok, who is challenging the election of Governor Simon Lalong, saying they were not signed by any staff of the electoral body.
Counsel to Senator Pwajok, Robert Clarke (SAN), told the Tribunal that the documents certified for the party by the Independent National Electoral Commission to prosecute the petition before the Tribunal were fake.
Clarke said, “What we discovered is that all the bundles of documents brought to us by INEC that were duly certified were all fake.
He told the Tribunal that the CTCs were aimed at truncating their case, wondering why the CTCs were stamped but no signature on them.
The Counsel argued that he did not want to believe that it was deliberate, saying that if they were not being lucky, they could have tendered the documents and would have been thrown away.
