Following the alleged irregularities that marred the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, leadership of the party has ordered for a rerun of the election.
National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, gave this order at the end of the party’s National Working Committee meeting in Abuja on Monday.
A former Bayelsa State governor and one of the aspirants, Timipre Sylva, was declared winner of the controversial election.
The development sparked verbal war between the Governor Adams Oshiomhole-led electoral committee and Sylva with both calling each other names.
Meanwhile, the state chapter of the APC has insisted that Sylva’s victory was irreversible.
