Respite has come for the former Akwa Ibom State governor and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio as the court of Appeal today upheld his election
The election of the former governor of Akwa Ibom state and the Senate minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has been upheld by the Federal Court of Appeal contrary to earlier reports that it was nullified.
Before the court sitting, reports had made the rounds this morning that Akpabio was thrown out of the Senate because of what the court described as "violations to the Electoral Act during the senatorial election between Mr Akpabio and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Inibehe Okori."
