The United States of America Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has sent out a strong message to immigrants over US visas.
He said US visas are a privilege rather than a right reserved for those who make the country better, not to destroy it.
Marco disclosed this knowledge in an editorial published on Fox News Saturday.
Commenting on President Donald Trump’s administration policy on illegal immigrants, Marco said, U.S. law lays out clear rules about who can and cannot come to the United States.
According to him, US consulate officers are required to apply these rules to each of the millions of visa applicants around the world each year.
He particularly stressed that, “Under the US Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), aliens who endorse or espouse terrorist activity or persuade others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organisation— such as Hamas—are ineligible for U.S. visas.”
Earlier, Marco said, “U.S. visas are a privilege, rather than a right, reserved for those who make the United States better, not seek to destroy it from the inside.”
This comes as a US judge ruled in favour of Trump’s administration’s immigration policy.
Judge Jamee Comans in Louisiana on Friday ruled that Mahmoud Khalil can be deported from the U.S. due to his involvement in leading last year’s pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University.
