As Nigeria marks two years under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, FiberOne, Nigeria’s largest Fiber broadband provider, has sent out a heart-warming congratulatory message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his
administration’s bold reforms and strategic investment in national development.

Hailing the president’s effort in digital economy in a statement signed by the CEO, Lanre Ore, the organization said, “Among other major achievements during the first two years, including fiscal reforms, power sector revitalization, and initiatives to attract foreign direct investment, President Tinubu’s leadership in accelerating Nigeria’s digital economy and broadband infrastructure rollout stands out significantly.”

The statement said President Tinubu’s administration has championed a digital-first agenda that supports improved connectivity, data access, and inclusive internet for Nigerians.

FiberOne went further to commend the government’s commitment to initiatives such as ‘National Broadband Infrastructure Project, targeting the deployment of over 125,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable nationwide by
    2027.

The organization said, “This transformative initiative is expected to close the connectivity gap between urban and rural communities.”

FiberOne also hailed the progressive collaboration with the NCC, which has helped improve the regulatory environment, allowing internet service providers (ISPs) and telecom companies to expand coverage and deliver faster, more reliable internet.

The statement further affirmed that, “Boosting telecom sector growth and with recent figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showing that the telecommunications industry contributed over ₦3.3 trillion to Nigeria’s GDP in Q1 2025, was a testament to the positive impact of the administration’s broadband policies and infrastructure investments.

“Access to high-speed internet is essential for a thriving digital economy. It powers small businesses, remote learning, and tech-driven innovation.

“President Tinubu’s digital reforms are creating the right momentum for telecom providers like FiberOne to deepen fiber broadband penetration and improve connectivity across Nigeria.”

“At FiberOne, we believe that fiber broadband is not just a luxury, it’s a necessity. As the leading high-speed internet provider in Nigeria, we are committed to expanding the reach of our broadband services, especially in underserved communities. Our ongoing initiatives include extending last-mile fiber broadband to millions of homes and businesses in both metropolitan and rural areas, deploying next-generation WiFi 6 routers to boost internet speed, coverage, and device performance, aligning with the Federal Government’s ambitious 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, aimed at equipping three million Nigerians with in-demand digital skills by 2027.

FiberOne is committed to nurturing local digital talent. Through initiatives like the FiberOne Training Academy (FOTA), we provide free training and upskilling opportunities to prepare young Nigerians for technical careers in
telecommunications and information and communication technology (ICT).

“This effort not only supports national objectives but also ensures a steady pipeline of skilled professionals to drive Nigeria’s digital transformation.

“As Nigeria continues its journey toward becoming a digitally empowered economy, FiberOne reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with public and private stakeholders to deliver internet that empowers people, fuels businesses, and drives economic prosperity.”
