‘I’ll have gone forever’ – Justice Crack reveals how he was arrested

Activist and social commentator, Justice Chidiebere, popularly known as JusticeCrack, has alleged that officials of the Defence Intelligence Agency, DIA, abducted him while disguising themselves as operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.

Justice Crack made the allegation in a post on X on Tuesday, insisting that he was subjected to inhumane treatment during his detention.

According to him, he was blindfolded and handcuffed for three days, kept under the scorching sun during the day and locked in a freezing cold room at night.

He further claimed that the intervention of Nigerians who demanded answers over his whereabouts prevented him from disappearing without trace.

The activist added that because the matter is still before the court, he was limited in what he could disclose publicly.

“JusticeCrack has never been cracked and will never be cracked. I was abducted by the DIA, who disguised themselves as DSS officers when they came to arrest me. 

“It was only after Nigerians started speaking out and demanding answers that they eventually took me to the DSS. Their intention was to make me disappear, and if Nigerians had not intervened, I might have been gone forever.

“After three days of inhumane treatment, it is important for me to state that I was blindfolded and handcuffed throughout those three days. During the day, I was kept under the scorching sun, and at night, I was locked in a freezing cold room.

“Because this matter is still in court, I am limited in what I can say for now. However, the truth is that it was the DIA that abducted me and took me to the CIC. I only became aware of this after I was transferred to the DSS, where it was revealed to me.

“Justice can never be cracked,” he wrote. 

DAILY POST reports that Chidiebere’s ordeal began in late April 2026 when he was reported missing by his family after dropping his child off at school in Abuja.

Following public outrage and allegations of enforced disappearance, the Nigerian Army confirmed on May 2 that he was in military custody.

The military said he was arrested over viral videos and posts featuring frontline soldiers complaining about inadequate feeding and poor welfare conditions, which authorities described as acts bordering on subversion and incitement of military personnel.

He was later handed over to civil authorities and subsequently arraigned by the DSS before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a three-count charge bordering on cybercrime and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.

Justice Crack was granted ₦5 million bail on May 18, 2026, by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik after initially being remanded in DSS custody.
