Four ladies have been pictured taking selfies on a bridge just moments before it came crashing down with them.
The women were posing for selfies when the bridge suddenly gave way

A group of young women - including two teenagers - suffered multiple fractures after falling over 30ft off a rundown bridge as they posed for selfies, The Sun UK reports.

The horror accident happened on a railway bridge over the Cais River in the north-eastern Brazilian borough of Castelo do Piaui.

According to reports, the side of the bridge suddenly gave way when the group were taking pictures.

A 22-year-old woman and two teenage girls, aged 15 and 16, fell 10 metres (33 feet) and suffered multiple fractures.

Local authorities released a photo of the three young women alongside a fourth friend that was taken at the scene of the accident the day before.

Policeman Marcelo Freitas told local media: "The bridge passes over the Cais River and is used as a railroad, although it has been in a state of disrepair for some time.

"The young women were taking photos when a section of the bridge came away and they fell to the ground below.

"Fortunately, the trio survived and were rescued by emergency services."

A group of eight people were on the bridge at the time but only three were injured.

They received treatment at a nearby clinic before being transferred by ambulance overnight to the Hospital Teresina.

Two of the girls suffered leg fractures while the third broke her left foot.

Local authorities said the bridge is the responsibility of the federal government and is waiting for a response from the Ministry of Transport

Wife Of Nigerian Lawmaker Reveals Why Her Son Was Tragically Killed In London (Photos)

Friday, 27 April 2018 10:30 Written by
The wife of a Nigerian lawmaker has revealed why her son was murdered brutally in the city of London where he lived.
Ronke Badru, pictured, believes her son Abraham, 26, was murdered because he stopped a gang r*pe in Hackney,
east London in 2006 and gave evidence against the attackers which saw them imprisoned

Mrs. Ronke Badru, the wife of House of Representatives member, Hon. Dolapo Badru whose son, Abraham, was killed on March 26 in London near the deceased’s parents’ home, said the murder of his only child at age 26, was a revenge for stopping the gang rape of a girl child when he was just 14.

The devastated mother said Late Abraham feared for his life after he gave evidence to convict and jail nine boys who gang raped a 14-year-old schoolgirl, Daily Mail UK reported.

Ronke Badru believes 'in her heart' that her university graduate son was gunned down in revenge for stopping the brutal gang rape 11 years ago.

She said Abraham Badru, 26, feared for his life after he gave evidence to convict and jail nine boys who gang r*ped a 14-year-old schoolgirl.

Relatives of the rapists are said to have thrown eggs at the family's home and made threatening phone calls to terrified Abraham, then 16, because he had imprisoned their loved ones.

After the case he fled 159 miles to Bristol for seven years after where he studied a BTEC in Sports Science before attending the University of Gloucestershire where he completed a masters in sports coaching.

A month after he was shot dead by a man armed with a shotgun just yards from his family home in east London, his distraught mother Ronke, 50, has pleaded for the killer to be brought to justice.
She said the rape happened on the Frampton Estate in Hackney where the family lived until Abraham began to receive threats.

She said: 'He went to Bristol in 2007 after he rescued a girl from a rape.

'He received threatening phone calls, he was really scared for his life.

'They were throwing eggs at our door and everything, the family of the group.

'Abraham was just 14 and the police said he was a witness and they said if you do not allow him you will be charged with perverting the course of justice.

'The family of those boys were coming to my door and saying he should not go to court.

'He moved to Bristol to continue his education, he was only 16.'

DCI Noel McHugh, who is leading the murder inquiry, confirmed revenge is a line of enquiry but also said Abraham could have been killed in a case of mistaken identity.

DCI McHugh said: 'It would be too soon to nail all the colours to the mast.

'That is one line of enquiry, but we have others that we are looking into.'

As Abraham moved to Bristol his mum was forced to moved to another house in the borough where the teenager would visit occasionally during holidays.

In 2009 Abraham returned to London when he was offered a job as sports activity leader but just days after returning home his Vauxhall Corsa was vandalised.

Ronke said: 'When he finished his masters he moved back to London and his car was vandalised outside on the street.

'They removed all the tyres and they smashed out the mirrors and the windscreen.

'He asked the police to be moved away, he was fearful for his life and was scared, he was worried.

'I feel in my heart it could be connected.

'I thought it was okay that he moved back to London because I thought everything had passed.

'It happened when he was little I thought that the people who had committed the crime would have been reformed and punished for what they had done.'

Mr Badru was gunned down after he opened the boot of his AMG Mercedes on March 25.

The Liverpool fan received a Metropolitan Police Bravery award in 2009 for his actions saving a teenage girl from being gang-raped and going on to give evidence against the attackers despite receiving threats.

In 2016 he returned to London to look for work, and was shocked when he bumped into one of the attackers, now released from prison, in a nightclub and had to run away.

His car was vandalised with the mirrors and windscreen smashed, and the tyres removed.

Abraham asked to be moved away out of Hackney borough, but believing that his housing application would be rejected began saving for his own home and was hoping to move this year.

Police returned to the scene of the murder on Wednesday, a month since the killing. A £20,000 reward is on offer for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the murderer.

Nigerian Woman Jailed In UK For Mercilessly Beaten Up Her Husband’s Sidechic And Pouring Bleach On Her

Thursday, 26 April 2018 22:39 Written by

A 42-year-old Nigerian woman identified as Abosede Ajayi, has been jailed for two years for throwing bleach into the face of a woman she believed was having an affair with her husband in the U.K.

According to Standard U.K, Ms. Ajayi, a mother-of-two, flew into a rage when she saw Jane Ocran sitting in her convertible Mercedes outside her home on June 17 last year. She emptied a bottle of household bleach over her head and beat her with her wig.

Ajayi, a former Ministry of Justice administrator, repeatedly slapped and punched Ms Ocran before battering her with her own handbag, Inner London crown court heard.

Prosecutor Polly Dyer said Ms Ocran escaped serious injury as her sunglasses protected her eyes from the bleach, but she was left screaming in pain after the attack.

The court heard Ms Ocran, who denies an affair was taking place, had been shopping that day with Mr Ajayi and had just returned to his home in Brixton. Ms Ajayi was shouting at her ‘you b*tch, sleeping with my husband, f***ing my husband’,” said Ms Dyer.

The prosecutor said Ajayi grabbed Ms Ocran’s handbag during the attack. “The defendant took off her own wig and used it to hit Ms Ocran, slapping and punching her a number of times in the head,” said Ms Dyer.

“The defendant emptied the contents of the handbag into the street and then walked back inside her home.” Passers-by doused Ms Ocran’s face with water, and she was treated in hospital for soreness to her eyes.

Gerwyn Wise, mitigating, said Ajayi had been the victim of domestic violence during her 16-year marriage, and her husband had openly embarked on several extra-marital affairs.

Judge Benedict Kelleher sentenced Ajayi to two years in prison, telling her: “This was a vicious attack that could have caused serious and disfiguring injuries.”

The graduate son of a leading Nigerian politician was shot dead near his family’s London home in the latest round of bloodshed in the capital.

Abraham Badru, 26, who was given a police bravery award as a teenager for saving a woman from a s*x attack, was gunned down in the street in Dalston, Hackney, just after 11pm on Sunday.

Mr Badru, who worked as a football coach after earning his Masters degree in 2015, was found slumped on the pavement by police called to reports of a loud gunshot.

He was pronounced dead a short time later. His mother, who had rushed to his side, was seen by witnesses collapsed in tears on the pavement.

Mr Badru’s father Dolapo Badru, 62, is a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, the country’s 360-seat equivalent to the House of Commons.

He told the Standard his “quiet and hard-working” son once saved a young woman from rape on the estate and later gave evidence which led to her attacker being jailed.

He said: “A few years ago a girl was raped on the estate and Abraham fought them off. He went to court to testify against them and the police gave him an award.”

Friends paid tribute to Mr Badru as a “bubbly and outgoing” young man who was “making a life for himself” after completing his studies.
They said he had a fiancee in Nigeria and had volunteered with the Team Nigeria UK football coaching charity, and had been due to coach at an open trial in Charlton today.

A volunteer said: “He’s such a wonderful guy full of life and very hard-working.”

Mr Badru had previously worked with Bristol council as a sport development officer, according to his LinkedIn profile and had interned at non-league Gloucester City FC during his degree studies at the University of Gloucestershire.

In a statement, his former club Almondsbury FC, near Bristol, said: “The club are shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of former striker Abraham Badru.

“We would like to send our thoughts and prayers to Abrahams family during this difficult time.”

Neighbours said Mr Badru had been to church earlier that day and was getting out of his car when he was shot.

One neighbour said: “As soon as I heard the bang, I knew it was a gunshot. I went to my balcony and saw a man slumped over on the ground at the back of a car.

“There was just one shot and a cry of pain. No speeding scooter and no speeding car.”

Another said: “His mother came out and saw him on the floor. It was terrible listening to her collapse crying on the floor. She was just screaming.

“Everyone was very upset and I had to go away, I couldn’t take it. It happened on our doorstep and I had to say a little prayer for the family.”

A schoolfriend added: “He had just finished studying a masters in sport at university. He was a bubbly guy and worked so hard. We went to the same church as kids.

“His mother is a devout Christian. I’m lost for words. I just cannot believe it. He was the nicest guy, very happy and outgoing.”

A police cordon remained in place in Ferncliff Road this morning as detectives continued to investigate the shooting.

Mr Badru’s mother was being supported by family members at the her home, around 100 yards away. The family were too upset to speak this morning.

A neighbour said: “They are a lovely family, church going and loving. Everyone is stunned this could happen to Abraham.

“He was a gentle, respectful young man and I pray for his family who are in pain right now.”

The murder is the third in Hackney this year and comes as 19 young men under the age of 25 have been killed in the capital in 2018.

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, from Scotland Yard’s murder squad, said: “We are appealing for information so we can establish the circumstances which led to a young man losing his life.

“Anyone with information who hasn’t yet spoken with us should come forward without delay. Your call will be treated in the strictest confidence.”

There have been no arrests.
